Marvel SNAP officially announced that they would plan their first Series Drop on January 31, 2023. In Series Drop, some Series 5 cards will move to Series 4, and some Series 4 cards will move to Series 3. So what happens in Series Drop? Besides dropping the series number, cards become 10x more common in Collector’s Reserves and much cheaper in the Token Shop.
Here are all the details:
Series 5 to Series 4
Here are the Series 5 cards that will move to Series 4:
-
Super-Skrull
-
Shuri
-
Black Panther
-
Valkyrie
-
Bast
Series 4 to Series 3
Here are the Series 5 cards that will move to Series 4:
-
She-Hulk
-
Absorbing Man
-
Titania
-
Luke Cage
First Edition Badges
Marvel SNAP also announced that they will release First Edition Badges. You will acquire this if you acquire a Series 5 card before it moves down a Series and that card will show a “First Edition Badge” when you inspect it.
Token Shop Improvements
Besides all of these things, Marvel SNAP also announced that they will improve the Token Shop. There is still no technical detail on what will change but they state that their goal is ‘to make the experience of earning Series 4 and 5 feel much better for folks who haven’t completed Series 3’

What do you guys think of this announcement? Do you like it? I think we are getting a great upgrade because cards will be more accessible. However, the exclusivity of the cards will become less exclusive as they will be in lower series with a higher chance of obtaining it. But because the purpose is to make the game accessible to all players, I think Series Drop is required.

1 day agoWhile I appreciate the introduction of First Edition Badges and improvements to the Token Shop, I wonder if focusing on collectability and shop tweaks truly addresses the core concerns of newer players regarding card acquisition speed and progression. Perhaps a deeper look at the initial player experience would be more impactful, rather than incentivizing spending early. Is this prioritizing collectors over broader accessibility, or is this just bad parenting?
