Control Deck that goes Boom

Bear in mind that my deck isn't optimal, as I write this, I have Collector Level 690, which is ten times as nice. 😏

This is a simple deck that has a very simple idea, to fight for two lanes, one you will obliterate with Destroyer, the other, you will protect with Armor, but hopefully close it up with Professor X and win the location at round 5.

Initial Hand

Having Nova, Colossus or Bucky Barnes on your initial hand will be helpful, since they go on what I call destruction lane, or Destroyer lane — if it's better to memorize. Ideally, you want at least one of the three on that lane, Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) is the most powerful one for that lane (after being destroyed, the lane becomes a power 22 lane).

Strategy

We execute two lanes:

Destruction Lane: Colossus, Nova, Bucky Barnes, and Destroyer go in here. The potential is for 28 power, going from 6 power on round 5 containing the three cards to 28.

Protection Lane:  Ideally, you should try to not populate three lanes so Warpath gets its +4 bonus from it's Ongoing ability. Daredevil, DeathLok (early at round 3 as the first card in the location), are valid ones, if you have Armor and not Professor X on your hand by round 4, you probably will want to play it, so Hobgoblin can be used on round 5 your protection lane, or another lane. The potential power for this lane isn't that high, at best it can perform around 17 power (with DeathLok on round 3, Warpath on 4 and a lane open, and Professor X or Armor. 

Daredevil, Rogue, and Magik

These cards are not necessary to run this deck, if you have Green Goblin you could probably use it to debuff your opponent location on any lane alongside Hobgoblin. But Daredevil's power can be quite invaluable, it's synergy helps to play Rogue early on round 5 for very key Ongoing steals, and to decide if Professor X is a safe choice to close the protecion lane, or to play Hobgoblin on a location that could potentially be closed for it, leaving you stuck with -8 on that corner. Magik is probably best used on round 5 just to give you another round to get Destroyer, or Professor X.

I've swaped Magik out of the deck now that I have Hood and Black Widow. They are arguably better cards since I add a bit more control with Widow's Bite and more power with Demon. DeathLok is still an interesting choice in case you don't get Destroyer on your draw, but the destruction lane without Destroyer rarely wins without it. So, up to you.

Strengths

I would say that the main strenght of this deck is to execute the control deck archetype, close locations for the enemy by playing Hobgoblin, or Professor X, and the big jump in power by round 6 on the Destruction Lane. Rogue, occasionally will completely shine, and sometimes just herself played on round 6 can create really key plays that are entirely unexpected. I have swinged locations entirely just by playing her (making Devil Dino 14 power to go to 0, and having 3 to 4 cards in hand, having her at 6 to 8 power.

Weaknesses

Definitely locations that can lock up the board too soon, or that fill the board with minions can be very unhelpful. Miniaturized Lab, Vault, and Sanctum, are some that come to mind. When two lanes are the only viable routes, those lanes will concentrate the opponent's power, and this deck expects the opponent to be playing a more spreaded game.

If you have the combo with Colossus, Bucky, and Nova, don't forget to snap and get some valuable noms on those cubes. Onomnom.

Desirable Cards:

I've mentioned Green Goblin, but also, and maybe even more important, would be Spider-Man. I think I would substitute Spider-Man for Warpath easily, with the goal of playing him on t4 just before Professor X on my safe lane, hopefully guaranteeing the win of the location and locking it for t6, when Destroyer goes boom.
