The core idea is to Galactus on turn 5, due to either Wave or Psylocke the turn before, then Chavez + Death (+ Sabertooth) on turn 6 for 29 Power at the only location.
Card choices...
Adam Warlock is the core draw engine of the deck. Sometimes you won't draw him, but as long as you draw Electro/Psylocke, Galactus and Death on time, it doesn't matter. Nothing you do before Galactus matters, except ensuring that you draw your pieces. So half of the deck is dedicated to Adam.
The reason this deck doesn't have the traditional 1-energy cards is that Warlock just isn't drawing a card turn 2 unless your opponent can't guess where he's going. Let's say you play Hawkeye turn 1 and your opponent doesn't play their character there. Looks good, right? Not really. If they play pretty much any 2-energy card where Hawkeye is, you're not winning — 3 vs 3 is a tie.
So instead we play a guessing game of avoid the opponent on turn 2. Can they guess where I'm going? It's a coin flip, even if they play optimally.
Devil Dinosaur is a great card for holding onto a Warlock lead on turn 3 going into turn 4. Sabertooth is the better option if you've already drawn Galactus + Death + energy, or if you didn't draw Warlock.
There are several ways where Galactus can be blocked, such as an opposing Debrii, the Central Park location, etc. Cloak fixes such problems (if you also drew Psylocke). However, there's a disadvantage to playing him if you have a Warlock location stacked: it locks you into a single Galactus drop location. You want to keep Galactus playable at TWO locations if possible so your opponent doesn't know where to stack cards on turn 5. If you didn't draw Warlock, he can go where Sabertooth and Psylocke are, and where Nightcrawler isn't, as long as there's at least one empty spot there.
Why not Thanos? Thanos is bad for the same reasoning as Cloak's downside listed above — it telegraphs where you're dropping Galactus. There's no way to play all those Stones and have two empty locations, except for the godliest draws imaginable.
