Deck Description
With this deck it is very easy to tell on turn 5 if you are going to win or lose the match, so it's easy to decide if you should snap or retreat and also it surprises the opponent so they will usually snap with you.
I usually wait till all spots are revealed (turn3) to play a card, so I know which spot to play. I like the least desirable spot for Galactus so anything that is a negative spot (-3 power if card is played here), usually other players avoid these spots so less cards are opposing you.
The perfect scenario is for you to play wave turn 3, Glactus turn 4, spidey turn 5 and either death or hobgoblin turn 6. Usually that's not how it works, and if you don't get that play, don't try to force Death out.
Sunspot- a cheap card that can bring a lot of power, is a good distraction.
Adam warlock- hard to play but when you do get it rolling it is almost always a win. I like playing sunspot then warlock or the hood and demon with him.
The hood- another good distraction card and good combo with warlock or killmonger to get death out if galactus don't workout
Wolverine- your best friend. Goal is to beef him up as much as possible. Play him on any location that gives him points. You want your opponent to play across from him. He is the only card that survives Galactus.
Green Goblin- try your best to play him where you plan to play Galactus. Also if you're trying to be risky send it to spots to ruin a location for the other player.
Killmonger- best play for him is to take out squirrels or rocks. So you have a spot for Galactus turn 6. Other wise I use him as a distraction if nova isn't out.
Wave- I use her for the perfect play (seen at top.) or to get death out as a distraction.
Hulk buster- Try your best to get this card with wolverine it adds 4 power to him so that's 7 power for wolverine.
spider-man - usually only play for perfect play or use him on turn 4 so they can't play on turn 5 and baits them into playing this location on turn 6.
Hobgoblin- Same as green, try and use this card at the same location you plan on playing Galactus. If you combine green -3 hob -8 that is -11 and two spots taken at their location. It's hard for players to counter that.
Galactus- you have to have an empty spot on your side for this card to work. I find that trying to free up the least desirable locations is where you want to play him.
death- rarely use unless you use wave with Glactus.
If you can get both goblins -11 and have wolverine and hulk buster +7 plus Glactus +3 that is a 21pt swing the opposing player has to make up. Usually you can tell if you're going to win or lose turn 5 so don't be afraid to retreat or snap. People don't see it coming because they are winning the other two locations so sometimes they snap back.
Flaws
if the other player has an Odin it can ruin your play pretty bad. So keep an eye for on revel cards that may use an Odin.
Movement decks are strong against this deck. Plan to play Glactus on the right side. Hemidole usually frees up right location.
Not pulling Galactus. I've went 5 games where I didn't pull him from my deckand usually ends up with a loss. Usually he does come through. I don't have warlock so maybe that's a card you could sub in.
last words-
have discipline if you know you're going to lose retreat. If you are not sure you're going to win don't snap and play through. There will be a lot of times where you know you're going to win and that is when you snap. This deck is a lot of fun especially when your opponent does not see it coming. Have fun!
